Welcome!

I’m happy you’ve made it to my site and I thank you for taking the time to learn about me and the services I am called to provide.

I am passionate about doing my part to contribute to the health and wellbeing of humanity and how we are evolving individually and collectively. I believe we are experiencing a pivotal point in the evolution of humanity and living intentionally is more important than ever. In addition, I love to help others find ways to help themselves live a healthier, happier life with more awareness that creates a better quality of life.

I’m here to share information, tools and my experience in hopes that I can help others ride the waves of life more gracefully. My goal is to contribute to raising the vibration of our planet through purpose driven service.

Please know, I don’t claim to have it all figured out, have all the answers or be “the best yoga teacher” out there. I’m constantly learning as I go and honestly, the more I learn, the more I realize I don’t know. Nothing can quite teach us the way life experience does so we live and we learn and repeat.

Our health and wellbeing journey is a very deep one. As far back as I can remember I struggled with my health. As a child I became dependent on food to calm anxiety. I learned to live in a hyper vigilant state from a very young age and was a pretty troubled teen. I lacked love and confidence in myself; I doubted my abilities and this played well into my adolescence and adulthood; to this day I still experience fear based thoughts and emotions. We are after all, human beings and we all experience a set of emotions that affect and guide us throughout life. What has created a more peaceful shift for me is how I now have a better awareness of my emotions and exercised ability to observe, experience, evaluate, process and redirect my own energy. This plays a big role in why I became a teacher and joined the board of a non-profit for Youth Development in the town that I grew up in - Orlando, Florida.

I dove into personal development work at the age of 20 when I had to have my gallbladder removed; I was unhealthy throughout my teen years and I decided it was time to truly take care of my health and begin to make better choices. In addition, I noticed the history of my family’s health was not very good. I did not want to continue to follow in these steps so I began to read more, research, eat healthier and exercise. Of course, this was a dance and just the beginning of learning how to implement change and a sustainable healthy lifestyle.

Fast-Forward to my mid 20’s, I found myself intrigued by the philosophy of Buddhism. My yogic journey began with a book called “Meditation for Beginners”; I started Journaling…again, as a child I used to Journal religiously, except I called it “writing in my diary”. I also began the practice of Hatha yoga which consisted of deep intentional yoga breathing and postures for 90 minutes in a room heated from 105-110 degrees. It was extremely challenging but I felt amazing afterwards; it helped me manage stress and pain I was experiencing in my body from overuse, injury and the meniscus in my right knee being worn at an early age.

As I continued my practice

I began experiencing the mental and spiritual benefits in addition to the physical. I realized how therapeutic this practice was for me; it allowed me the space to process my internal world, connecting deeper with my intuition and heart. Eventually, this practice of self-awareness became my way of life.

In 2014, I moved to Seattle, Washington with my old pup. Away from everyone and everything I’ve ever known. What was meant to be a 6 month trip “just to experience something different” ended up to be 6 years. Being away from my family was one of the most challenging things I’ve ever done…but this experience brought me to new levels of self-inquiry and development.

I dove deeper. I began practicing meditation daily and supplementing with Neuroscience lectures to better understand what I was doing when sitting still, being quiet…“doing nothing”. I began speaking affirmations, creating vision boards, attending multiple personal development workshops, practicing yoga daily and going on strenuous expert level hikes, immersing myself in nature.

I was soul searching, exploring what I felt was spirituality and God, exploring my beliefs, values; I wanted to expand my mind. I learned a lot of helpful information, practices and tools. This is why I am passionate about sharing with anyone open and receptive to exploring their own personal development.

After a mind-expanding trip to Cambodia,

I completed my Yoga Teacher Certification in 2018 and have been teaching ever since. I’ve experienced a few serious injuries and a lot of Physical Therapy, which is when I became more intrigued by anatomy, physiology and the body’s ability to heal.

I believe an attitude of gratitude is key, I love to experience life as a gift and continue to expand my mind. I enjoy creating art, music from all over the globe, dancing, traveling, engaging with animals, hiking in the mountains, reading books and training Martial Arts - I currently practice Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Tai Chi.

I began training in Martial Arts because I have a goal of teaching women and kids self-defense.

I would describe my experiences as a journey of self-transcendence. I love exploring the many modalities of personal development.

Tapping, breath work and meditation are a few of the tools that I believe open an inception of doors within our consciousness. I believe the key is to explore (consistently) and see what feel good for you. We are each unique and will all have a different path of self-transcendence.

These tools have improved the quality of my life in ways that I know are part of my purpose. I’m excited and honored to share what I’ve learned with you. Be Like Agua is my commitment to helping others go with the flow of life.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

I feel it’s important that women learn self-defense so in 2020 I began training in the beautiful art of BJJ. It was a slow start due to the state of our planet at the time but I did what I could and kept going. Yoga and BJJ go hand and hand very well and I’m excited to one day be skilled enough to teach kids and women self defense. My teaching style is very much influenced by martial arts - it is the journey of the peaceful warrior.
